Where to Start?

One of the many challenges of being online is trying to focus on JUST one thing at a time. I personally find that almost impossible to do. There is entirely too much stuff online to look at, read about, study and learn. And I enjoy learning new stuff. And it all takes time . . . LOTS of it.

Starting an online business venture can be a daunting task, especially if you have no previous background or experience in business (other than being an employee). And then there’s the MARKETING of your business and all that’s involved with what it takes to let people know about your business. And there are numerous ways to do that, but you have to learn what works best, especially if you are working with no money, like I was when I began my search for earning income in 2003.

I’ve seen a LOT of stuff online, and rejected a good bit of it either because:

1. It cost money I didn’t have;
2. I didn’t understand what it was, or why I needed it; and/or
3. I simply wasn’t interested in what was offered.

Now, fast forward 4 years . . .

It has taken me this long to finally figure out exactly what I am doing online. I AM a Help Desk Support Specialist, a resource of information, if you will. I also teach and train people who need help with understanding how to do something on their computer. I’m not into hardware, but know software, and have a knack for figuring out new applications and programs. And I seem to have a gift for being able to explain what I know in simple terms.

One of my goals for 2007 is to pull out of my head all the information I have learned while being online 15 hours or more a day, in order to share it with someone else who may need it. That means WRITING IT DOWN! Something I have been hesitant/reluctant to do for a variety of reasons. And I honestly believe the challenge for me has more to do with WHERE to start? There’s just SO MUCH STUFF!

Make no mistake, I do NOT know everything, but I have enough information at my fingertips to help someone else who may be looking for what I have to offer.

So, as I learn how to overcome the challenge of writing something useful every day, please check back to discover what information that I have personally found useful. My hope is that it helps you. And eventually, this site will become the one that I wish I’d found 4 years ago when I came online in search of earning income.
